Hainanese Curry Rice @ Eng Hoon Street

I love hainanese curry rice… usually getting my fix at the Tiong Bahru and Redhill food centres …
Little did I know that just diagonally across the Tiong Bahru food centre was another place that has been serving up yummy hainanese curry rice for years
Silly me …. Silly us (Aly and me )

Who could blame us? The place is only opened till lunch
Don’t say I didn’t mention this
Anyway Aly and I decided to wake early today and check it out

I joined this long queue of people and Aly went to scout what food they had before running back to tell me what she wanted…. damn… the things she wanted weren’t the things I wanted … was in a fix… didn’t know what to order as I was afraid of ending up with too many dishes for just the both of us

and…. this is what we ended up with …

Sweet and sour pork (Aly’s choice)

Kong bah (Pork Belly – Guess whose choice this was – Not too difficult to guess )

Pork chop! (cutlet actually ) Our choice

Spinach with mushrooms (Aly’s choice)

Cabbage … our choice

Verdict…. ah mao like!!! ah mew no like!!!

Why? Not that she really didn’t like it… just that the curry gravy was a tad too spicy for her …

The food was pretty good actually… loved the pork chops … pork belly was a little too oily… but then again… after mixing the gravy with curry and all… it didn’t matter … heck… that’s how you’re suppose to eat it no?

I wish I could’ve ordered more dishes though…
