Day 03!!!! Woke up early again as we planned to have brunch at Kau Kee.

Read up about this place online before the trip and read many rave reviews on it including some really good photos of the food.

We found our way there only to realise that it still wasn’t opened yet… it was noon…

Darn it….

Aly didn’t want to wait for Kau Kee to open, so we just headed opposite where the famous Sing Heung Yuen 勝香園 dai pai dong was :P
Another place I had to try out…. another place where TVB has filmed many serials at :P

Does the place look familar to you?

Maybe you’ve seen it really recently on the TVB serial 甜言蜜語 Speech of Silence where Kate Tsui’s father owns this dai pai dong :P

As always… must try their milk tea or yuan yang (milk tea + milk coffee) !!!
Aly’s iced lemon tea was good just like the rest we’ve had so far …my iced milk tea was darn good too… not overly sweet and tea and milk ratio was just right not overpowering each other ;)

Boss? Busy dishing out several bowls of their popular tomato soup dishes

Aly wanted noodles… but I ended up getting macoroni for her :-s
She wasn’t amused :-s

So we both had the same thing ….

Tomato beef soup macoroni …. the beef bits were tender…
Soup was kinda bland … light I suppose… lucky it wasn’t sour, if not my stomach wouldn’t have been able to take it :)

There’s another guy just round the corner who’s in charge of ……

Making this!!! :D
We saw the couple next to us order this …. so we told the staff we wanted one as well :P

Toasted bun with butter and condensed milk…

Sweet!!! But VERY VERY YUMMYLICIOUS!!! =P~

Those who know me would know I don’t really like crunchy crispy stuff…
I’m a soggy person :P

But this bun was crispy! and I loved it!

Okay … too many pics of the same thing lol…. but it was REALLY good :D
Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and the butter and condensed milk was just right! :D

Basket…. 1230pm!!! Kau Kee opens shop… just look at the queue!!! :-s

Scenes of the dai pai dong….

I just think the setup is so cool…. :P
Think the ministry of health would close this place right down if back home :P

Lunch time crowd is forming….

Sing Heung Yuen getting it’s fair share of people queueing for seat :P

Queueing up for dai pai dong!!! Despite the rustic (and perhaps eeeky to some) environment, people don’t mind eating here! ;)

The 2 places… at the junction of Mee Lun Street and Gough Street ;)

Big screens everywhere !!!

Just get out from Sheung Wan MTR exit E …or was it D? and then cut across this place to get to Sing Heung Yuen … the two of us stupidly walked ROUND this place instead of cutting through lol :P

It was back to Sheung Wan MTR

My first attempt at taking self portraits making use of glass reflections :))
What a failure :P

We took the MTR to Sham Shui Po

The famous Apliu Street…. lots of cheap electronic goods for sale here…

The place looks so busy!!!

but we’re not here for the electronics…

We’re here for beads! :P
Several rows of bead shops here …

Whole building covered with scaffolding… quite scary….

Me snapping away while waiting for Aly to finish browsing the bead shops….

We’re just along Yu Chau Street :D

and the Audi Advant gets a ticket :P

Quite good also lah… how can just park like that for so long along the bus lane :))
Wonder if they get demerit points like back home :))

Nice rims though :P OZ!!! Italian :D

Man… I wish I had one of this back home :(

A4 Advant 1.8T… Love those dual pipes =P~

Aly had to go to the loo… so we found one at the nearby wet market….

Place was quite scary…stank… floor was wet and dirty….

and I don’t even want to talk about the toilets …. :-s

You guys notice the street lamp?

It’s on the 2nd storey… just sticking out of the building…. building too close to the road or what? Such that they have to mount the street lamp on the building itself…
Wouldn’t the guy staying in that apartment find it bright every night :P

Ferrari Plus :))

As we walked down the road  going through the various bead shops….

We soon found ourselves at this place… Dragon Centre

along Yen Chow Street

Notice the ads? The last one has a pic of the Merlion… and it’s called Kreya Ayer Restaurant…

Not Kreta Ayer? The chinese words are 牛车水餐厅 …. er… shouldn’t it be Cow Car Water… or Chinatown … :))

Looks like several levels of shopping …. Aly was hesitant at first… but I said why not just check it out….

After all… it’s DRAGON Centre…. my place leh … for dragons … :))

Hmm…. Even Yoshinoya does deliveries… and that looks like just for 1 person …. cool…
They should do deliveries in Singapore also… as in … not just Yoshinoya….
I find Hong Kong so cool ‘cos so many eateries do deliveries…. it’s so convenient!!!

It was back to the hotel for a rest as Aly’s legs were getting sore and she was feeling tired…

We then took the MTR to Tung Chung to check out the outlet shops at CityGate Mall…

Did some furious shopping there…. bought a bag from Quicksilver Outlet shop… some clothes from the Puma Outlet store and also from the Ralph Lauren Outlet Store…

I was quite amazed ‘cos I didn’t get anything from the Nike and Adidas outlet stores :P

We then took the long journey back to the hotel for a quick rest and to dump our shopping bags before heading out to Tsui Wah nearby to fill our tummies before tucking in….

My pear tea thingy…. SWEET :-s

Not bad….but too darn sweet :-s

It’s actually Sugar Cane PEar Tea…. what the heck is Rhizome? :-s

Tired cat….

Condiments and toothpicks …. Singapore eateries don’t provide toothpicks!!! (most of them anyway)

Aly ordered this thingy….

and just some of the other stuff that they have….

Hi tea set… cool :P
Suggestion …. :)) Funny… not recommendation… but suggestion :P

Aly’s hot lemon tea ….check out the slices of lemon!!!

All the different types of stuff you can have with your soft drinks :P

My pork chop fried rice :D

Big chunky carrots and pork chop… not fantastic… but edible….

Veggies were boring…

Tough… and cooked with ginger… Aly and I didn’t like it much …. plus the presentation was Singapore style… anyhow throw :))

Aly’s order finally arrived after we chased them several times

Sticky sauce…. what are these? Chilli?

Prawns were okay I suppose…

But I’m still not a fan of “raw” crispy noodles :-s

Check out the spiced pork cubes that Aly bought from the TASTE supermarket at CityGate Mall….

Same brand… but the packaging is different from what we get back home ….

and best of all ….

It only costs SGD1.80!!! :O
Cold Storage is selling it for SGD3.10 last I checked before we left for Hong Kong…. Sheesh!!! :-s

Time for some ZZZZZzzzzzz  TIRED!!!!
