Met Vivian and Perry to check out some stuff for the biz near Lavender…. Tummy was hungry… plus since I was seldom at the area, I took the chance to try out the very famous Kok Kee Wan Ton Noodle located at Lavender Food Square.
Yes… I know… just about everyone I know have eaten it … even Aly tried it before… everyone but me :”>

Ordered it with chilli which I normally don’t with my wanton mee as I prefer to eat it as it is… but I recall folks saying that the chilli here was good, thus the wanton mee with chilli ![]()

Wanton mee with a good dose of gravy…. gravy plus the chilli … sweet … too sweet for my liking … So much for their famous “special sauce” ![]()

Char siew was … erm … nothing fantastic… it was dry and the meat was tough …

Nothing fancy as well… just your usual free soup … salty! ![]()

Next… the wanton …

Small wanton with bits of minced meat filling … Could’ve been bigger I reckon… but perhaps the price would be higher if so…

I was too lazy to go up and take a pic (plus the lady didn’t seem friendly … so erm… just shot from a distance despite the pillar blocking the stall
)
Overall…. I didn’t like anything much about the dish except for the noodles… the texture was just right… springy …
Man… it’s really overrated…. what’s with the long queues and raves about it everywhere?
