Seafood Kitchen II

Suddenly … the whole gang wanna eat crabs Was quite reluctant of the whole idea as they wanted to go to Seafood Kitchen at Elias Road … damn bloody far …

Then discovered that Perry’s birthday was just a few hours away So what the heck… give the guy a good crab I thought…. so picked Aly up from her work place and then Vivian and Perry at Pasir Ris MRT and headed to the place.

When we got there… we thought the place was closed No lights… nothing … Perry then got off the car and went to read some signs there were pasted … and came back to tell us that Seafood Kitchen had shifted to somewhere behind the coffeeshop

So … got the car parked and off we went to hunt for the place.

It wasn’t too difficult… it was just at an air conditioned food court RIGHT BEHIND where it used to be, on top of a wet market

Hmm… the place seems really new…. Seafood Kitchen is located just inside the food court (or Coffee House as they call it )
Just hunt for this set of stairs beside… at… Block 623 Elias Road

Funky new signboard now

Place is now in an enclosed air condiitoned place as opposed to the open air but breezy place previously.
Air conditioning wasn’t as cold (or even cool) as I would’ve liked it to be though
There was a whole lot of folks waiting for their take aways ….

The staff now wearing Seafood Kitchen aprons … no more mistaking a customer as a staff anymore lol

Got some spinach in some herbal soupy thingy… pretty nice… for the 3 of us … Vivian eats meat

Black pepper venison (or deer meat) …. I like this one as it’s not all super gooey like most places …

Cereal prawns … the last time we were here with Vivian and Perry, we saw lots of folks eating this and it looked and smelt good …
Honestly… we were deceived back then
Okay… it’s not fantastically bad… but it wasn’t extremely good either… it was, in my opinion… just edible.
I’ve had better ones at many other places

Almost every table in the place has one of these on their tables….
Their specialty I guess… Crab Bee Hoon….
Vivian ordered (she did all the ordering ) 1 crab for this…
The size of the crab was scary, same as before … taste wise…. pretty good…. had a slight herbal taste plus I ate several pieces of fried pork lard (not for the health conscious) … interesting …
Bee hoon texture was soft as well… obviously soaked before or something… I hate eating bee hoon which is like so hard (alot of mee siam stalls I’ve been to serve really hard bee hoon )

Man tou … to go with the chilli crabs we ordered…

Vivian ordered 2 crabs for this … she had wanted to try black pepper crab… but I wasn’t keen on black pepper and I was afraid that Aly wouldn’t like it or would be too spicy for her…
I then found out that Aly wouldn’t have mind trying the pepper crab (after she gave me that look )

So there we have it … 3 giant crabs, lots of bee hoon … 2 other dishes and some spinach…
Hmm…. the dishes we ordered are more or less the same as those ordered when we were here the last time

All of us were just amazed at the size of their crabs… claws…. etc… look how it makes the spoon looks so tiny

Believe me, if she had put it just beside her face…. it would be almost as long

Total bill was a whopping $180 … for just the 4 of us
But considering that the crabs were fresh and big … and tasty… and we were all stuffed … I suppose it was pretty okay …. no?
Still expensive ar? ERm ….
