We’ve walked past this place so many times till we lost count… there were a couple of times where we tried to dine here only to find that the place was full…

Not so bad today… we were here pretty early… and the place was rather empty… so we got ourselves a nice table at the corner

Lots of stuff in the menu …. spoilt for choice… the ala carte dishes weren’t cheap though… In the end, we settled for a set for 2 ($59)

Ginseng Chicken Soup … this was huge! We were shocked at the size of this …
I thought they would’ve only given us half a chicken….
Did I mention that the chicken was stuffed with glutinous rice as well?
Aly didn’t like this at all though… she complained that the ginseng taste and smell was overpowering

We managed to finish all the food except for some of the chicken soup as I had to deal with the whole bowl (and the rest of the food) since Aly didn’t like the strong ginseng….

Couldn’t walk after that …. I would say it was a pretty good deal…. I shudder to think how much food there would be for the set for 4

Everything was okay to me…. Aly didn’t like the quality of the cabbages and the strong ginseng in the soup…
That’s about it… Total damage was $73.70 after service and tax and a can of Pepsi ($3) and 2 paper towels ($0.60 each)

There’s a big menu on top of the machines…. machines???

There are 2 machines in the restaurant …. plus a girl who will teach you how to use the machines (kind of defeats the purpose of ordering your food with the machines as she does everything for you )

There’s a touch screen for you to choose the items that you want… and then you slot your money into the machine for payment

After you get your receipt, just grab a seat and wait for your order to be prepared… you can then collect your meal after that

The only self service so far is just collecting your food ….

We were at Far East Plaza and didn’t know where to go for dinner… we walked past this place before, so decided to check it out.

Turkish kebab place …. order from the counter …seating area is opposite.

Hmm… what should I order? I think I’ll have girl number 8!!!

My order. Very JIALAT … some miserable veggies, one big green chilli, very little meat and very little rice.
Why do I always end up with the pathetic orders
EXPENSIVE… portion so small… price so big …. arrgh… how much was it? Erm… was it 6 or 8 bucks or something… can’t recall (this happens when you have a memory of a goldfish )

If you go here…remember… get the kebabs… more value for money

Oh… and my order wasn’t good… the meat was tough… everything was little…etc.

After watching some variety programme on telly… Aly and I decided to try out this ramen place opened by some chinese national …. the stuff that come up on tv looked pretty yummy….

It wasn’t too difficult to locate the place at the top floor. We had to queue for awhile… guess the free (or not?) advertisement on tv did work

Ordered some dumplings …. Aly found it not bad… Not me though, I think the dumplings need a whole lot more meat in them

Aly’s pork rib ramen… dry! Erm… let’s just say I had to assure Aly we would get supper after that …

Mine was erm… beef with kim chi soup ramen with an egg….

Which leaves me to wonder again… the feature on tv … was it paid?

Aly and I were just walking around looking at the various shops at Far East Plaza, the place is beginning to feel more like Argyle in Hong Kong (but still has a long way to go actually)… lots of little little shops selling clothes and stuff… lots of kids around too…

We then had dinner at this cafe on the 5th floor called Susan Chan cafe… we’ve eaten here before actually, just that we didn’t take any pics previously…

We like the food here as it’s pretty simple and not too much msg… cheap and good! Total bill was around $20, much better than fast food in town in my opinion
