Besides that I love other types of tea as well…
I’ve long heard of Essential Brew and been dying to try out their tea infused cuisine …
Finally managed to get Aly together with Tong and Kelly to try it out

Okay… honestly? Forgot what this is or who had it … or was it my chai tea? Which was it?

Ordered some calamari rings ($5.95) to share …. I liked the tartar sauce

Aly and Kelly had the same thing… Garlic Prawn Pasta ($14.95)… this was good …. I love garlic!

Fai’s Crispy Lemongrass Chicken ($13.95)
Errr… forgot to ask him how he found it

My Honey Mustard Chicken ($ 14.95).
Lovely … Aly found it too sweet though …

Service was pretty good … especially when Tong had has meal for free when …erm… he found a stray hair on his chicken towards the end of his meal which he showed the manager who promptly struck if off the bill

Stray hair aside, I don’t mind returning to try the rest of the food and drinks… now… if only the rest shared the same liking I have for tea …sigh lt;

Aburiya @ Holland Village…. we’ve walked past this place several times…. but only decided to give it a try now …
The menu was a little confusing at first, but not too difficult either. We went with 2 different sets to try out the different types of stuff they had. Was tempted to try the wagyu beef …but held back (due to the price of ‘cos… it’s WAGYU!!! )

We ordered Set A and Set F ($60 per set) + 1 garlic sausage ($7.90) (for my greedy kitty)

Squid with butter in the aluminium pan and some sausages and pork ribs on the grill…

Small bowl of beef stew …. a little too small though…

2 big bowls of salad…. big leafy pieces of lettuce in light dressing …

Mushrooms for Aly … who else?

I love grilled garlic … simply lovely… not too excited about the corn though …

Er… Kimchi? I was the only one eating it …. Kelly ate a little too…. I thought this place was jap!

Everything comes in 5 pieces? There are 4 of us … not 5

We were really full after the meal despite the little bits and pieces we had… but I found that it was a little on the pricey side though (Total bill was $149.05 ), Aly stressed “quality not quantity” .. .er…. Tong found nothing special…. Kelly said it was okay… she prefers the Crystal Jade Ginseng Chicken and BBQ at Ngee Ann City
For me, I’d rather spend my money elsewhere frankly speaking (with more meat selection at cheaper prices lol)

Met Pat and Audrey for lunch today …
Audrey still looks so skinny! I wouldn’t have thought that she’s preggy if I didn’t know!

Hog’s Breath Prime Rib (200grams) $19.50 (Set lunch)
“Best served medium rare to ensure a moist and tender steak. Served with baked potato, classic mashed potato or Hog Tail Fries. Your choice of salad or vegetable.”
The steak was too well done for me even though I asked for it to be done medium…. oh well… different places have different ways of medium lol … Taste wise, it was not too bad

After lunch … Pat presented to me my birthday gift

Audrey mentioned that Pat did it all by himself … heh … so touched
No wonder he was asking me where to get paint and stuff couple of weeks back… SNEAKY!!!

Met Aly for dinner at HV today … been a long time since I stepped foot into Crystal Jade here …. The last time I ate here was with Pat and Audrey …. can’t recall how many months ago it was ….

Anyway … Here’s what we ate …. Aly ordered some fried Mushroom and Salmon buns…

Not much salmon if you ask me … take a look!!!

Tasted so so to me only….

Aly’s order of Beef Brisket noodles ….

and my order of onion noodles …. tasted pretty good … but it wasn’t cheap … $5 for just plain noodles with strings of fried onions

which was why I ordered this … beef brisket and pork dumplings… it was suppose to come in chilli oil, but I asked them to seperate the chilli oil so that Aly could eat the dumplings …. the oil … was good!!! It had a strong taste of garlic and vinegar in it

Just had a medium ham and mushroom pizza plus an order of lasagna that’s all…

Lasagna … nice! If only the portion was bigger LOL…
