My grouchy pet cat

Ice Milk Macha… tasteless!!! It was really bland….

My order of beef in tomato cream sauce…. lots better than the one I had with Aly at Raffles City Shokudo….
That one had badly done (soggy) noodles… at least the texture of the noodles here was much better although not al dente
Beef bits were okay I guess… with slices that thin, how difficult is it to get it done right?
Tomato Cream sauce was too creamy… too little tomato in it …
Waraku Pasta does a better tomato cream sauce compared to this.

Fried chicken … Can’t recall what it was called… but it was pretty good

Ebi Puri Puri Age…. fried battered prawns with wasabi sauce… the sauce was good… the batter was bad… the prawns were just okay.

The chicken was pretty dry. Pasta was the same as mine (tomato cream), too creamy to our liking

Will I return? Maybe, maybe not…. the atmosphere wasn’t right for us lol… too many young things fluttering around… old man like me felt so out of place…. unless I was in the mood at looking at sweet young things… if not, food and prices and atmosphere just doesn’t cut it for me

Our second visit to Pasta De Waraku… but this time at the Marina Square branch …

I made it a point not to order the Sukiyaki pasta again lol

This is what I ordered this time round … Tomato cream sauce with chicken and mushrooms
So far in my life, I’ve only had either cream or tomato based sauce
This was something new lol … both!

When you eat cream based pasta, it’s usually pretty filling …. this was just right… the tomato mixed with the cream sauce made the dish alot lighter … added that to fragrant and tasty mushrooms plus chunky pieces of chicken… this was yummy!

Aly’s Gratin seafood …. I still preferred my dish lol

We’ve always wanted to try this out…. but the branch at Marina Square is always packed with a long queue…
We were early at The Central this time round, but we still had to queue…. since we had time to kill and we weren’t super hungry … we joined the queue and waited for a table

Small bowl of complimentary salad? Or does it come with every main course? er…

Clam chowder soup ($8.80) … Pretty expensive in my opinion… but lots of clams… erm… so… worth the price?

Mushroom omelette ($9.80) This was tasty… but I found the portion too small for almost 10 bucks!

Aly’s Wafu Nero di Seppia ($16.80) … basically squid ink pasta… with… squid!
Nice… but your mouth … teeth… tongue and all will turn black after that

Sukiyaki Pasta ($14.80) ….

I don’t know what I was thinking… for a moment there… I thought this would be special… perhaps a mix of tomato and sukiyaki beef elements in it …

I was dead wrong lol … this was just the normal sukiyaki with some noodles thrown in … it was boring …. and I got sick of it after awhile … too sweet!

It’s our anniversary!!!
Every eating joint was packed at Marina Square … sheesh …
Tried our luck at Waraku and surprise surprise! We were 2nd in the queue…
Waitress asked us if we would mind a counter seat or continue to wait for a table…
HUNGRY!!! So we took the counter seat … erm… we were the only ones at the counter… and I really mean counter… not some bar top or sushi belt thingy… it was a counter!
We were seated right in front of the lady making drinks and desserts …
Which wasn’t a bad thing… we had free entertainment while waiting for our food to arrive and also while having our meal

What? No meat? Must be Aly again… we had this for a start… Big chunky tomatoes and a generous amount of avacado…

Steaming hot and thick creamy soup base… interesting … you guys should try!

Basically grilled/roasted/baked garlic…. yummy!!! Just no kissing after this

The food was really good…. one of the best I’ve had in fact… Definitely coming back
