Aly and I wondered around Suntec City after dinner at Outback….

We decided to just sit down and chill at Cottage Waffle for awhile…

We sat all the way in the shop… nice cosy and quiet corner…. although abit stuff

I had an ice tea… baby had most of the waffle though… I’m not much of a waffle person

Sam has never been to Kuishin-Bo before… so Aly gave her a treat today

Cold noodle! Shiok in sunny Singapore

Unhealthy stuff… fried dumplings… fish fingers… soft shelled crab… and some sticks of teriyaki chicken

Aly loves the cold long legged crabs here

One of the “specials” at the place.
Every half an hour (or hour? or something ) the restaurant will play the “dong dong dong” tune and hand out a limited number of special dishes, first come first served.
So whenever you hear “dong dong dong… kuishin-bo” over the air, better jump off your seats and see where they’re handing out the dishes …

and more carbohydrates for her…. Girl… this is a buffet… stop stuffing yourself with carbo!!!

Teppanyaki … Bring the pegs with your table number to the counter, select your raw food and just hand it over to the chef… the waiters will bring the food over to your table when the food is done

Look at the table next to ours… First thing they got was Paper pot soups for everyone

Ginseng porridge… Aly didn’t like it obviously

I got myself half a bowl of it just to sample for the fun of it … not too bad lah … if you throw in lots of condiments

Dessert time! This was Aly’s plate…
Mango pudding… can’t recall what’s the pink one… strawberry pudding?
Some cakes and red bean pancake as well as a stick of mochi too

She also got a cup of soft serve ice cream… guess those are jelly balls or something

I went to the drinks counter to refill my coke… and then the “dong dong dong” tune came up… and they were handing this out right beside the coke dispensing machine… talk about right place right time

Turned out to be some melon sorbet thingy…

I manged to get 2 of them throughout the dinner

Japanese buffet makes girls happy

They’ve got different prices for the different timings throught the day and week.
So do your homework before dining here!

Aly was on leave today … so we spent some time walking around Suntec before stopping for a bite at Bakerzin

Aly ordered a mix and match of some dessert tapas and ice cream

Rum & raisin ice cream… not much into this one… Aly eats rum & raisin ice cream alot though

This was not bad … very cheesy

Chocolate & caramel ice cream with hazelnut rice crispies
This was pretty nice as well…. rice crispies reminded me of primary school days

Banana pizza with cinnamon ice cream
I enjoyed this one the most… yummy bananas

Had a glass of hazelnut coffee blend to try to stay awake

Kitty was very happy … what is women and desserts?

Another place that has been around for years and we’ve never patronised it before…
Read some positive reviews on the place a few weeks back, so decided to give it a try today

We walked past Kuishin Bo… which was packed with a long queue as usual and headed to Shillawon… place was kinda packed as well, but we were lucky as there was a last empty table for us thankfully

The waitress asked if we would like to have the buffet or not… we told her that it was our first time there… so she explained to us what was in the buffet… Aly turned to look at me… I just said “buffet!”

I was hungry! Anything would do! I just need food FAST

The buffet consisted of cooked food that we could take that was placed inside of the restaurant at the entrance and everything else from the menu. We had to order what we wanted ala carte style

While flipping through the menu, I noticed that some of the items were stated to be only available on weekends…

Hmmm…. lucky for us it WAS a weekend

Rice cakes from the counter … Aly claimed it was really good …. as compared to the expensive and lousy ones at Dong Dae Mun (Bugis Junction/VivoCity)

It was my first time having rice cakes… so I couldn’t compare or comment

More stuff you could pick yourself … sashimi and tempura

Onion pancake which we ordered … not bad I was surprised that Aly ate this as it contained lots of spring onions

I loved this one best … (Bossam) boiled pork belly for you to wrap with lettuce and pickled vegetables/kimchi, cut green chilli, garlic and hot bean sauce. This dish is so simple… yet so lovely… especially with the garlic … the tastes just explodes in your mouth! (Think a whole lot of wasabi exploding in your mouth )

Blogging about it now is making me have cravings for it
You can get additional lettuce from the counter inside the restaurant.

Aly ordered seafood soup…. brave… I’m just trying to stay away from these seafood stuff after that fiasco with Mario Kitchen

I was afraid to order this at first ‘cos had already waved the white flag….
But I wanted to try this…. thankfully after seeing Aly’s soup, I saw that the portion wasn’t too big… Good 1 person I suppose…. This is spicy soup with kimchi, pork belly and tofu

No regrets about ordering this … lovely soup… pork belly slices were not as big and thick like those that were served with the lettuce…. I had some leftover from that plate and threw them in the soup…. shiok

By the time I was done… erm…. Only kitty was left!
Everybody else had finished their meals… even those who came after us
