TBone… which stands for Tiong Bahru One … or Tbone for Tbone steak? Just a play on words as this place is suppose to specialise in steak….

Opened since last Oct, Aly and Vivian have always wanted to try out their meats….

We took the chance to go there today… I dropped them off and then went to hunt for a parking lot, when I got there, Vivian and Perry were seated outside….
I was thinking why the heck outside… weather was so hot these days lol… no more seats inside?
Thinking back I should’ve checked out the scene inside… Now I still have no clue how it looks like inside :-s or if it was air conditioned or something …. :-s

Garlic Bread … mixed with some slices of cheese and veggies…
Really soft …and oily :-s
Cheese slices was a nice touch ;)

Portobello Mushrooms ($15)
Roasted with herbs, garlic and oil … and I must say… it’s REALLY alot of oil …
This tasted pretty good though despite the oil … garlic bits were nice as well… I love roasted garlic…

The dish tasted almost like escargots with butter and garlic you get at Jack’s Place though… :P

Perry’s Black Angus Australian Tenderloin 220gr ($39)
Choice of Black Pepper or Mushroom sauce, Perry chose the latter

Served with fries and a choice of salad or vegetables… Perry chose salad…
As usual, not much complaints from the man :D

Vivian’s Sirloin Australian 200gr ($26)
She chose black pepper sauce and vegetables
“Pretty good” she said ;)

Aly’s Black Angus Australian Tenderloin 220gr ($39) ……

with mushroom sauce and vegetables … no black pepper definitely for her :P
She didn’t comment much on the food … hmm….

My order of Ribeye Bearnaise Sauce Sauté Potatoes ($34)

Okay… I know it looks gross, like someone just puked on it… :-s
Meat was pretty tender, I had wanted it done medium, when it arrived, the waiter annouced it was medium rare :-s …. Er… what the??!!
Anyway, it wasn’t that rare thank goodness…. Was the meat really done medium rare or did the waiter or waitress screw up? I’m still wondering now ….
The Bearnaise Sauce tasted like they took a whole tube of Pringles Sour Cream and Onion and mashed it up into this sauce…. tasted exactly the same to me….
I guess I would’ve preferred it without the Pringles sauce lol…. but it wasn’t too bad…. just that it wasn’t too good as well.
The potatoes were pretty good though…. except… that it was on the oily side…

One other thing…. everything I had was salty … midway through the meal, I couldn’t speak as I was starting to lose my voice due to the salty meal … seriously!!!! :-s

Vivian wanted to try this
Chocolate lava cake and Ice cream ($10)

Ice cream… nothing special…
Cake? What cake? Too little cake…
Only the top layer was cake, everything else underneath the 1cm of cake was chocolate lava
Chocolate lava? Tasted too much like chocolate fondue :))

I only had a small taste…. not too much a chocolate or cake person… so can’t really comment much…
Verdict on the dessert? Lousy according to the girls :P

Total bill… About 200 bucks…
Too expensive…. in my opinion … for salt …

I had to go to nearby Tiong Bahru market for a drink after the meal as I was extremely thirsty from the food
Perhaps it was my choice that left me in that state, but looking at the oily dishes and chunky bits of salt on their chunky fries left me thirsting for more water…

Somehow the experience left me drawing parallels with the much cheaper Botak Jones.
I do admit that the steak itself was done pretty well plus the quality of the beef was good, but for that kind of money, I would’ve expected everything else to be lots better.

Back for more? Nope. I think I’ll be much happier at the western food stall at the market…
I know! You can’t compare the 2 … but what the heck … :))
