Uno Beef House @ Toa Payoh

Aly ate at this stall many years ago but didn’t know where it shifted to….
A search on the internet returned not only the new location, but rave reviews as well.
We arrived early (as advised by many) and managed to get a table easily.

Stood in front of the stall for some time, torn between the tenderloin or the sirloin

Chicken soup!!! Came with a slice of garlic bread, nicely toasted

Mushroom soup … pretty bland in my opinion…. too diluted…

With a dash of pepper… (or lots of it … )

Aly’s order of sirloin steak ($8) … nice big piece of meat… done medium…served on a hotplate…. when sliced through, blood oozes out

My tenderloin ($10) …… done medium …. Portion was pretty good…. big piece of meat… I hate getting a small piece of steak and being charged $20 or so and having the need to go for supper after.

I must say… this has gotta be one of the best steaks I’ve had for a long long long time… The meat was tender and juicy and not too bloody, sauce for the steak was lovely to taste.

The potato ball was interesting, not just some boring fries or baked/mashed potato… this was mashed on the inside, and fried on the outside

The steaks here are comparable or even better than some upmarket restaurants in the city, for a few bucks more than your regular food court/food centre western food stall, you get superb quality steak at half the price of what you pay at restaurants.

This is one place I’m definitely going back to… excellent!!!
